About Jackie

Jackie Harland is a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist who has been in paediatrics for over 30 years and is a founder of the London Children’s Practice.

She has set up multidisciplinary children’s clinics and early years provisions in the UK, Delhi, Bangalore, Dubai, and Lahore. Jackie carries out speech, auditory processing, language and social communication assessments, consultations, and medico-legal assessments.

Jackie Harland has written a post-graduate training programme for teachers in speech, language and communication needs in children which has been accredited by Anglia Ruskin University at Masters’ level and has delivered this course internationally. Jackie co-founded Arc Pathway, early years assessment and next steps software which is used in the UK and internationally. Jackie is experienced in diagnosis and intervention for children with language disorders, attention and processing needs, communication disorders and impairments, specific learning and language difficulties as well as speech delays and disorders. Jackie trains teachers in schools in the use of communication strategies in the classroom including high and low tech AAC.

She has a MA in Early Childhood Education. Jackie Harland has set up two charitable trusts to support children with special educational needs. She is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health Care Professions Council.
Jackie has received an MBE as part of the 2020 Queen’s Birthday honours for her work with children with special needs.
